From 3-7 June 2023, the WoPedyP Project partners gathered at the University of Limpopo to host dynamic focus groups discussions with women from four study sites: Nchechane (8), Ramogale (5), Mankweng (5), and Nobody (8). These discussions delved into the livelihood experiences of women in these communities using an innovative and engaging approach known as photo elicitation.
The photo elicitation method involved using images to prompt discussions and gather insights from the study participants. This approach allowed participants to share their experiences, perspectives and challenges in a more visual and engaging way. Through the photo elicitation method, the discussions revealed valuable insights into the women's livelihood experiences. Women highlighted challenges such as access to resources and services. Participants further discussed how social and cultural norms influence their livelihood choices and experiences.
