This June, I had the opportunity to attend the 43rd EARSeL Symposium at Manchester Metropolitan University. As one of the known annual events in the remote sensing community, EARSeL brought together researchers, students, and professionals to explore the latest trends in Earth observation and offered a vibrant mix of oral and poster sessions, with engaging discussions. Our research based on the WoPedyP study area, A Combined Approach of Optimizing Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) for WorldView-3 Imagery of Mankweng, South Africa, was presented during one of the oral sessions. Sharing our findings with an international audience was both rewarding and motivating. Looking ahead, I’m excited to incorporate the insights gained into my ongoing work on classification, with the hope of contributing further to the field.
